- Total time: 30 minutes
- Servings: 8 taco sticks
- Difficulty: Easy
🛒 Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) Lean Ground Beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 packet (1 oz) Taco Seasoning
- ⅓ cup Water
- 1 tube (13.8 oz) Refrigerated Pizza Crust Dough
- 8 sticks Mozzarella String Cheese
- 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter, melted
- ½ tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Dried Parsley
- Optional Dips: Salsa, guacamole, sour cream, or queso
🥣 Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat & Prepare Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
- Cook the Taco Meat In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until cooked through (6–8 minutes). Drain any excess grease. Add the taco seasoning and water, simmer for 2–3 minutes until thick and fragrant, then remove from heat to cool slightly.
- Roll & Portion the Dough Unroll the pizza dough onto a clean cutting board or work surface. Press it into a large rectangle and cut it evenly into 8 equal rectangles.
- Assemble the Sticks Spoon about 2 tablespoons of seasoned taco beef down the center of each dough rectangle. Place one full string cheese stick on top of the meat.
- Seal & Shape Wrap the dough over the filling, pinching the seams tightly together and sealing both ends to prevent the cheese from leaking while baking. Place each stick seam-side down on your prepared baking sheet.
- Add the Garlic Butter Topping In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Brush the top of each taco stick generously with the garlic butter mixture.
- Bake to Golden Perfection Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the dough turns rich and golden-brown.
- Serve Warm Let them cool for 2–3 minutes, then serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces!
💡 Pro Tips for the Best Results
- Pinch Seams Tight: Make sure to squeeze all open edges tightly together—this keeps the cheese inside the crust instead of spilling onto the tray.
- Add a Spicy Kick: Mix diced jalapenos or a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes into the beef for extra heat.
- Make Ahead & Freeze: Assemble the taco sticks and freeze them uncooked on a baking sheet. Once solid, transfer to a freezer bag. Bake from frozen at 375°F (190°C) for 18–20 minutes.
